I will try not to be negative-I will try not to complain-and I will try not to moan and bitch-but dang having no power form 6.10 am till 1.30pm (Unscheduled outage) for the whole of Darwin….sucked big time….And yes folks that was all of us up here yesterday,ok have that of my chest now, and will not go any further with it.-squeek ok just to say it was caused by lightening.
Yeah yipee I have actually complete 4 items for the OPAM challenge for the month of January and have a couple still in progress….
A friend is often making trips for a night or three in hospital-so I decided it would be nice if the family had a bag to take his things in rather that the good ‘ol plastic shopping bag-so without any more rambling here it is…
Colourful but not too bright and a good size, I used the quilt as you go method for making this…
All my items can be viewed by clicking on the OPAM tab on the main page-now that page is set to no comment it is just a view page only…

Yep I sure did, all totally 100% for my benefit-oh dear that sounds selfish, but I had so much fun and fell very refreshed for doing so…and have surprised myself that I got so much done considering the horrid horrid weather we have—c’mon send down the rain pweeeeease…
Anyways so I got thinkin after a post last night that I needed to make some more clothes for some kitchen appliances, so up with the birds this morning I was and plans started to happen…
And keeping in line with the tea towel challenge Jenny put out..bugger it we just lost power, thank gawd I have UPS’s connected to puter and modem..lahlahtralala I shall keep typing…and quickly I may just get this post complete.
Looky there see the deep fryer now has a new cover and don’t he look sweet next to the wonky block toaster cover (made that awhile ago)..
And what is hidden under here????? That wee appliqué is a W-did you guess what it was?..Ok it’s my kitchen scales….
Aww don’t they look pwetty, all tucked away where they live.
Since I still had some get and go left in me..I made this cover for the microwave too….
Oh I love pie don’t you…
And if I want to put the box of bit’s and bob’s on top of the microwave then I can move the cover to look like this..oh yummy pie…
I have another pie set out ready to make-they just look darling…
I am off to jump in the pool man it sure gets hot quick with no air circulating…..

What no I not talking dishes-go wash your mouth out…
I am talking about the many other things you can use tea towels for – like making things.
Over the years I have many things outta tea towels and it wasn’t until recently when Jenny posted about making things out of tea towels that I started to think about the things I had made – without even thinking about it ..Mainly I used them because they were the right size and sturdy kind soft canvas type fabric.(I don’t know what you call it)
Then I decided my poor deep fryer need a new cover.
Ahh all chooked up.

Umm well busy yep that’s it..have I been chatting on the phone ermm nope definitely not with these horrid storms we have been having.Have I been chatting on Messenger nope I not available..must mean I’ve been chatting up a storm on Skype? Oh and nooooo I have not been playing copious games on facebook. Nope sadly not----Oh so you think I am still kicking up the dust and cleaning the house eh? fat chance –no way I am back at work..so what have I been doing?…..Well what is a girl to do when it is the first week of the new year ? Well of course she that’s me just had too go wandering in blogland I truly did, and I landed HERE can’t even remember how I got there..and next thing I knew I was madly sending an email away to join..yep I think I’m addicted to swaps..what do you think?
Anyways that did not kept me from all the above mentioned activities for long, nope but this has had me busy every night..carefully following the instructions man it’s like Rose is standing beside me saying the instructions they are written so well and I am listening true I am..aww ok I’m not fiddling around with the placement of my 2½ squares-man I would still be at border 1…I am just reaching into my box of 2½ squares-which are a mixed sort, grabbing the required amount and then sewing them together..
Oh and oops I must be more careful when tracing the pattern Rose does say several times make sure fabric is centred, ok I must slipped a bit –on one of the thin borders.
So finally here I am ready to start stitching the first block-let the floss come alive-woohoo
