Farmyard friends

Well I am on a stop buying magazines from the newsagent phase….

But but but I just thought I might break it when I saw Cheryl’s post of her farmyard friends.

Then I had a bugger of a day umm Thursday and on the way home called into a newsagent to make me feel betterah and bought a magazine without really taking much notice as to what it was called…Imagine my delight when flicking thru the pages I found Cheryl’s farmyard friends.

So last night I set about to make Carmen the Chicken, strange that I should want to make that one right away eh? Anyways I happily snipped and sewed and she looked cute…

Then when I sat her down for a picture shoot..I was dang –bugger it-i don’t believe it I have made a big boo boo..

I realized I had sewn her wings on backwards-what a clutz, but then when I showed my hubby the pattern he said anyone could of made that mistake..I’m like yer really being sarcastic (yes I was).

On the pattern sheet of Carmens body piece where it has the wing position it says blanket stitch between the dots.(well I saw broken lines).well that's what I did kinda LOL..I stitched around the broken lines...oh my this  Carmen can now fly backwards...I wonder if I will be the only ninny to do this..

Aw well my Carmen is unique she can fly backwards…

Home today..

Well I woke up this morning and felt like I had been hit by a Kenworth…

So it was a day at home for me with my throbbing head –raspy throat and runny nose.

After a few more hours sleep,I awoke too find a bitterly cold wind blowing .

I set  myself up with my blankey and sat in my chair in the lounge with the sun beaming in on me-

and stitched my new wonky house that generous Jenny shared with us yesterday.I traced it last night ..soon as I saw it something just said too me do it on mushroom pink fabric, I opened up my tin of messy colourful arrangements of embroidery strands and just picked basically the first one I saw.

I sure hope that new erasable    marker I bought erases itself-the other one I have erases before I have finished stitchin…..

I like the way it turned out.oh yeah I made it biggerer then the original…I have a couple of ides as to what the finished item will be-just have not made my mind up yet..

I can say though the day in and out of bed and cups of tea and aspro and vicks rub and strepsils have worked a treat as I feel 80% better now than what I did this morning.

Light Box

well yeah yipee I have come up in the world..as far as tracing stitchery's go..

The old way for me was to kick hubby off his puter (cause I have lcd screen),

open up blank word document-stick design to screen-stick fabric on and trace away..

hubby had all the stuffs to make me a light box, I was happy about this and waited patiently for it too take shape...

then I spy a pierlite (lighting manufacturer)box, I casually says what dat for -thinking to myself holy heck I have an immediate use for that...

anyways he starts to explain that it is for my light box and that he will do blah blah blah..instantly I wanted it as it was..so a wee bit of cajoling and I won...

so my light box is..unique

it is an exit sign the likes of what you see in stores etc, (approx 13" long x 5" width x 3 "  high) that show the way when lights go out.....'cept it has a blank plate.

Doing the cha cha here…yeah I know I get excited over the smallest things ….

Bag sewing

Looky here another post..ok truth is this puter is being stripped down this afternoon,but it will be rebuilt, I am to use the laptop hubby has been readying for me..and it is naked so too speak it has windows 7 operating system and Microsoft office on it, being the patient impatient person I am, this has spurred me on to get my posts done in case something goes belly up  takes longerer than normal to do hehehe.

This weekend I have finished 3 projects yeah 3…

The chook table cloth is done.

Bag for an upcoming birthday present.

Bag from leftovers from above bag,this one is going in the mail.

Dang I could easily keep both bags I love them , that satisfies me that they are good enough for their new owners..maybe I could hold onto too them for a tad longer eh?

 

Oh yeah and I managed to get all my items for a CHRISTMAS swap wrapped up.

Ah wow 3 posts in one day…

I got a present yesterday from Mr & Mrs 20man..oh wow I was so stoked…

so after hubby had placed her in her pride of place spot..I took a photo of her and the others around her…

Isn’t she adorable? She came with her own eggs  I thought that was so cute.

This miss in her wheelbarrow came to the garden mothers day.

Mother hen and her chicks just  screamed at me to take her home, so i obliged and handed over the $$$…

I participated in a 10 item swap hosted by Cass you made 10 items and sent them too Cass and included a self addressed large postal pack for your items to be sent to you in.. Cass organized groups of 11 and then sent you back 10 items..

my package arrived last week..what wonderful items I found inside.

First three items ..far left reversible sunglasses case made by Fran ,top right tissue holder made by Sandra, and the handmade cards (which the picture does them no justice at all) they have insects on them made by Tania.

Next three items…. lovely wee tote made by Xena, bottom right orange toned key ring & shades of green brooch made by Cam, top zip purse made by Aimee.

Far left lovely polymer clay pendant made by Amanda, centre felt flower brooch made by Michelle, right frank the frog magnet made by Nikki, centre front hair accessories made by Anna.

Thankyou to each and everyone for making this swap such fun, all the items are beautiful .

Wonky Houses

supercalafragalisticexpialladocious ..yippedty doodah yippety day my oh my what  a wonderful day…Ok ok already I hear ya , I’ll stick to the sewing and stop singing,

But I finally have a pic of my completed item using the wonky houses blocks designed and gifted to bloggers for free by the wonderful amazing Jenny..

ok I know this isn’t it but how mean am I to disturb her so I could get a pic of the runner in good light…

This is it, i made a runner for our coffee table  (too dark to take  a  pic of it on there) so needed to use the kitchen table,dang to the light reflection..

A closer up pic…I do not know what I bought these three fabrics for..yes I musta  liked them  no I needed them that’s right…I had 3 metres each of the florally ones and 2.5 of the other..I like the way the wonky’s sit with it..and it looks way betterah in real than a photo..
