Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea...
Yeah I have sewed and I can show a pic….
The place where I am working now is hosting a morning tea to raise funds in support of the many thousands of Australians affected by cancer..
Well we had a meeting on Friday at work where we threw ideas around and came up with our plan for the day… and Friday afternoon I HAD (yep had too oh it was horrid)to drive the work car to Spotlight, yes me going to spotlight for work in work hours totally un heard of eh?
Gosh dang brain into altered mode…I am in this store for purpose and it isn’t to browse and fondle all the glorious fabric…waaaaaaaaaahh, reality check get with it girl..
Ok I was in the store to find some nice aprons (reasonably priced)or some fabric to make half aprons for the females at work to wear on the 28th May ,ok aprons in store were icky pooo..and the yellow gingham looked real sick –so I flitted of too the furnishing section and found some pwetty tea for two fabric at $3 a metre I thought yep too good to pass up..Got back to work and the Admin Manager had left for the day but three girls there thought my choice was fab..
So I cut and sewed yesterday..and they do look cute on hehehe..oh and I made matching scrunchies too as that was a request from 1 of the girls..
Hoping when you click on the pic you can see the vibrant but not too bright colours…
I think we are going too have a fun wow morning tea…

Swaps are cool hey!
I love participating in swaps they are such a joy-from the beginning when I start making or collecting item/s for my partner, till the day when my partner receives their package too the day when my package arrives.
The joy of opening up a package put together just for me is something that just makes me smile wide-yeah ok maybe I’m simple.I enjoy finding out about other people and swapping with them.
I enjoy doing the Pay it Forward swap –details over there on the left down a bit, I do not get discouraged if I don’t get three people to join me.As I put people who have posted on my blog into a draw and randomly send raks (random acts of kindness)too them–and am due too send a couple out soon so if you have posted on my blog in the past couple of months..I must just be emailing you for your snail mail addy soon….
Below is a pic of a swap I received today from a person in a yahoo group I am in,
the swap was specific items to be sent…coffee or tea..something sweet..1x fat quarter..a nice mug…a recipe and a handmade item..well looky there a my great stuffs.
I just loove these slippers and have wanted a pair for a long time yeah I now have some and they are beautiful colours….Another pic of the slippers they are so rad and toasty on my tootsies, yes it gets cold enough for slippers it actually dropped to 24 deg cel…before 7.30pm tonight..that’s a tad chilly for us….

Wonky Houses didn't happen.
well I had wonderful plans for today..I was going to finish of my wonky houses BOM by Jenny
they are so cute and Jenny’s look super in the completed project…
Alas I put my wonky plans aside and helped hubby all day downstairs as late yesterday he discovered a problem….when he opened up a tool box…it had a dirt mound in it..on further inspection he found a couple of wee holes bored through the bottom of it…..
Upon further inspection he found his hammer half inside the dirt mound and then he found a screwdriver.
Hmm yes solid handle screwdriver.
can you see what I see..yep the is holes right the way thru…In case you have not guessed yet…it is darn termites…
Upon moving a couple of items we discovered they had been nicely munching away on several things under a work bench….Do today I have been assisting /hmm maybe moral supporting (too ensure it all gets done) teeheee…and the area is now almost clear of all that was there..and the termites were fed too meat ant colonies around the paddock and then there was some that just copped a good ‘ol dose of mortien….
aw well maybe I’ll find sometime during the week after work to get my last wonky finished and assemble them all together in one hanging?????
Hope all the mothers had a wonderful mothers day.
Cheers Vickie.

Stash project gone wrong
I just hate it when something I am sewing don’t turn out right.
And this was the case with Judy ‘s other stash project..silly me started the blocks on 1 machine then inadvertently used another machine well of courcerous the seam 1/4 inch was not exactly the same so i had a plenty fudging to do.
Well today Judy posted step 4 ermm arghh nope no way was that gonna happen so I just joined what I had done and this will be it..cause if I had of left it ..there would be another ufo
it will suffice as a blanket for the baby when it is rolling about on the floor.
needs a real good iron and things don’t line up in some places but just run past it real fast and you won’t notice….

A Walk in the paddock
Well I did nuuuda house work today just wasn’t in the mood..
I did some sewing this morning and then the ferals arrived at 12.15 so there I wasted 2½ hours sitting down with them being all polite like.
Then I came up top and did some reading, I am so in love with Jude Deveraux novels at the moment.I may just have to join the library as I am running out of luck with thrift store finds of hers.
Well dang if’n I didn’t fall asleep, dear hubby realized at 5.45pm things were a tad quiet up top so he came looking for me and found me fast asleep so he gently told me it was after 5.30pm …arghhh blast several hours losted..
So I decided to wake myself up by going for a walk around the paddock and taking my camera with me…these are a few pics I took along the way.
Now let me tell you before we go on I am no gardener and I am not into pretty flowers everywhere.
Down near the driveway I spotted one red waxy flower and a small pale green one in the plant in the pot.
Ohh goody goody this stick has decided to flower and it is so aromatic..Oh yeah I know this one is called a frangipani.
Oh look there is one of my garden chooks ..hubby even made it a next of hay to make it look pwetty.
My goodness I have never seen this plant in flower or seed(not sure which one it is..hey I know the name of this one too Mother in Law tongue.
Ahhh look it is another garden chook,I think I have 4 around the beds…picked ‘em up in kmart for $4 each.
Isn’t this pwetty it’s way over around from the pool so unless you go for a wander you don’t see it..and hey this is an orchid..hehehe I am shocking with plant names they are green or purple or variegated somethings ….
Thanks for walking with me.
Cheers Vickie
