Make do Mini Quilt Challenge

Well well well finally Mr Blogger lets me in grr to blogger somedays.

Lyn set a challenge last year with some very very old hand sewn hexagon blocks that she bought, the participants were given 5 blocks each and had too use at least 4 in their item.

4 of mine were roughly the same size and then 1 was bigger..I thought about what I was going to make for a while and then this idea came to mind and I set about doing it…all by hand just as the blocks were sewn by hand .,..OH yeah and man were these blocks fragile…

P1040180 [800x600] oops looking at the picture I have not bent the hanger properly shhhh don’t tell hubby..he felt so special when I asked him to make it for me-I painted it a dark green…and I am actually happy with the way this has turned out-thanks Lyn for the opportunity to participate..

Cheers Vickie

Thanks for stopping by.

Great idea to preserve the hexagons

Hi Vickie, the hexagons look great. I like them actually. Ages ago someone gave me a bag pattern that used hexagons and it looked absolutely fantastic when it was finished. Your work looks great. Kind regards, Anita.

Those hexagon shapes are beautiful. I love this! I do not quilt, but I have crocheted hexagon shapes in various colors to put them all together - one day - to make a blanket - and I'm still not finished. It's a great way to use up scraps.

Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday!
