Retro Nine Patch

Oh my..Oh my smiles and tears at the same time…

I now  show you a picture of my retro Nine Patch table cloth that I made from the lovely bom that Lyn shared with us,there where times whilst stitching this that I nearly gave up..like when my stitches were irregular & I had used the wrong colour thread-but no I persevered unpicked and restitched and I am so glad I did. I decided to make the bigger version (as I had plenty of table topper size tops) and then when I go to the piecing at the end realized I did not have enough fabric and big hunt was on and I luckily found some very very similar on ebay-purchasing as 8fat¼’s was not the most economical way,but at least it all blended well.I used clear thread and just did my wonderful messy meandering stitch.

A huge big big thanks to Lyn for sharing this with us.

It was great to see the how the other girls made theirs, why not pop on over on over and have a look they are all great-and show individuality.

The quilts were judged and I was shocked to find out I had come 1st,hence the smiles and tears.

Cheers Vickie

Thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations Vickie. I ran short of red for my DWR quilt and only needed about 5 or 6 more little pieces of the melon. I eventually found it but had to buy 18 fat quarters from the US (I live in Australia)! Now I have enough to make another quilt! But it was worth it to finish off the quilt evenly.

Hello Vickie, congratulations a well deserved win.....I have just read your post...and the journey of the making of your quilt....and what you did was the essence of the bom...you did not give up.....you may not have noticed...on my tablecloth...that I had run out of the white background and had to blend a new one in.....thank you for participating Vickie...Hugs Lyn
