Carolina Crossroads -Top Done

I have been at my sewing machine all day-ouch my back is sore ....my arm is canning me..BUT ...I've got my CarolinaCrossroads Mystery Quilt quilt top done...

now these colours are so not me but that was my intention to go totally out of my comfort zone.I don't usually make anything out of pretty florals ...I am happy with the way the green has stood out and I will put a border of green around the edge.....and I'm not thinking about the quilting part for a least another week....

Cyclone Over & Step 5 done

Well we had a cyclone here on Friday night-lucky for us it was only a Catergory 2 so wind gusts up too 130km/ph and surprisingly not much rain..was a damn horror of a night but we survived and no damage done to us(well sleep deprivation makes me AKA Super Bitchy-but DH said nope I was fine too him hmmm ) or our property, quite a few branches spread around the paddock and a damn pool that looks like a mirky/filthy river..although I have been out working in the pool all morning and it's nearly clear again...so now I reckon I've done my stint of outside work and the computer was calling me hehehe...

and last night I managed to finish my step 5 -Of Carolina Crossroads Mystery wooo hooo

Carpenters Wheel

Well here is a pic of the quilt top I have been working on...Kerri-A made a carpenter wheel quilt for her daughters b-day (18th i think)..anyway I really liked it and thought yep I want to give it a go.Ka said it really was'nt hard hmmmm....SO on the spur of a moment I went yep I'm going to do it...and this is what I achieved..and hey it really was'nt that hard-hardest bit was working out the colour placement for centre.....next time I will make sure I have enough fabric LOL ...t'was a struggle finding 4th colour to blend in as I ran out of the other fabric...well it fits on our king size bed and covers the pillows(think that's called a sham?)..
Hope to finish it before too long.....

Happy New Year

Well another year is just about to close and what a year it's been,I give thanks to all my wonderful internet friends who make life easier by being around when there is no 3 dimensional people near by....I have had a very productive day today have made a RAK(Random Act of Kindness) gift for someone out of scrap fabrics and it turned out quite good-was nearly one of them "Oh I better keep it for me things"but no I was good..I also made a healing heart(had to stitch the heart on by machine(used a decorative stitch)'cause I still can't sew by hand...and I made a block to be sent away for a gift quilt that is being made..I pray that in 2008 at some point of time I will be able to have proper use of my arm back(gawd it's so annoying) ....

I have decided that I will do at least 1 RAK a month for 2008-so you just never know one day you may receive something from me-for no reason at all and nothing is expected in return..Happy New Year to all cheers Vickie

steps 1 -> 4 done

Woohoo I have all 4 steps done on the mystery quilt..thanks too the never ending rain and storms last night I could'nt sleep so I just sewed LOL well c'mon what person in the sewing mind would'nt....then I could hear drip drip, arghhh alas water coming in my sewing room - out came some towels(bandaid fix till hubby gets home)..LOL hubby comes home looks yep rain coming in , and he says he will get up in ceiling in the morning(well like it's morning now but alas he has been calledout to work)....but it gets betterah.... when I went too go too bed at 1.15am... drip drip on me grrr arghhh heck no water coming in through the fluro tube right over my side of the bed..so hubby just hauls the bed over too the other side of the room....well dang more towels ....and yep you guessed it he still aint home golly hope he returns soon the rain has held off for a few hours......then I guess I'll be washing a big load of towels.... any wonder I am actually looking forward too step 5 this is soo much fun-and when the darn camera decides to work I will be able to post some pics..ahh life is blisss

Changed my mystery Quilt colours

note the brights I used in mystery MK1 LOL yep I'm totally going out of the square with this one...
ladybug mystery as I was calling it is still a mystery but will be sitting as a wip for awhile as there was a fabric shortage problem due too an big booboo...LOL...So now I have stared all over again using florals(once again not me) and a tone on tone pale green for accent..so far no mistakes(not doing a happy dance yet)...I think it may look a tad muddy when done but that's the mystery of it all eh?

I survived Christmas

Yes I have survived Christmas...however I must say it has been the most blandest(if that's a word) christmas I've ever had..apart from a couple of ferrals calling in on chrissy day for the odd ale or three...that was our christmas day just me and hubby(just as well we enjoy each others company)Hubby was on call for work and got called out early christmas day,and then was home until next call out at 11pm grrrrr...So I kept myself entertained in and out of the pool and with my mystery quilt-hmm well yes after all my froggin the other day I have now started all over again with different fabrics this darn thing ain't going to beat me...

back again

Welll I've finally made it back here -am not happy with my mystery blocks so far as I've made a big booboo and looks like I now won't have enough fabric-so I am sitting back till Bonnie post's the next clue..

Finally

Have not been on the computer much or sewed much these past few days as I've been suffering from a nasty reaction to a bug/wasp that bit me on the butt(grrr hurt like heck) ...anyways now I am on antibiotics to kill the infection that has spread thru me and I my stomach feels like a washing machine agitator.....and my butt is still painful..hence can't sit still for ttoo long..But I have progressed with doing the mystery quilt ....
Well finally I have made up my mind that yes I will do the mystery quilt and have even purchased my fabric (woohooo big sale at spotlight and fabric only cost me $3 a metre) and am only using 3 diff fabrics and am using 2" as too Bonnies 1½ " (cause 1½' wa sjust that bit too small for me) I have even given my mystery quilt a name "Ladybugs in my garden" ...

FNSI Time again

Well it's time to join Wendy and the others for a bit of stitching. To he honest not sure how much  I will  achieve, as yesterday I had...
