bad bad me

Did not realise it has been ages since I posted..

So I have been on a trip to Victoria..took my daughter to see P!NK was a great concert..we had a blast I also drove here there and everywhere visiting relatives and friends and meeting up with some in the 3 dimensional form..I totalled just under 2000kilometres.

 

Seriously that kiddo shoves the camera in your face a lot. I really don’t like that pink picture pose.

Was very fortunate to go meet this lady..

And went too see my a cousin whom I have not seen in over 20 years-very special.

Aren’t these meals delish looking, they were huge from the Blue Duck in Ararat.

Spent a time with friends who have just moved to Great Western, they live right opposite the Seppelt Winery..man that would be hard for me to take hehehe..

Met Shez @ Such and Such in Ballarat had a cuppa a chat and look around the gorgeous shop and then Shez led the way to Gail’s Emporium …OH my gorgeous..

truly is a beautiful setting and lovely inside..Shez is in the cottage garden threads corner..

There is more photos somewhere, but gee when I look at what I have I realise there is so many  more I didn’t take.

Was  great time away..and I thank those that enabled me to have some time with them..

My Chair

My chair desperately needed a facelift..I have had this for years bought it 2nd hand from a precast company..so it has concrete scuff marks on the feet-I can live with that..but it also had silicone and yuk on the seat..now she is proudly sitting waiting for my butt…

 

Ahhh I think I will sew much better now..hehehe

the fabric is a drill with owls and sweet birdies (only because I didn’t have enough chooky fabric anywhere)…

Was sooooooooooooooo easy to do and really took no time at all.

Christmas in July

Yeah what a lovely swap this was, thank you Cheryll for hosting this.

My gorgeous gifts came too me from Maria

beautiful Reindeer table mat & tiniest hexagon decoration with Santa in the middle..oh and the beautiful little bowl (was a lovely extra item )

I squealed when I opened this one as I did not own a bunting till that very moment..it is gorgeous and has all different Holly fabrics..thank you again Maria I love them all..

These are the  gifts I made and sent to Lynda ..they all arrived safe and sound all though Lynda did say the reindeer was gasping for air when she unwrapped him..

table mat made out of different fabrics that had Holly on them, gorgeous  Reindeer (Melly&Me pattern) and a Tree shaped oven mitt..

Hello

I have been working on secret projects so no photos…my arms have been giving me honk so I have had to pop away my embroidery for  a while..am making myself use the sewing machine as I know I will go into a no mojo slump if I just sit…

I have joined Michele Foster in the Aiming for Accuracy Quilt Along, initially I was going to use yellow/grey/black/white but decided to safe them for a bigger project later on.my fabrics are pink batiks and black homespun..it is eye popping seeing all the different fabrics of the same blocks.

Cortisone Injection

My left elbow (which is the good one) has been giving me honk lately, well after taking 3 script painkillers on wed night and getting no relief I knew it was time for ouchy baawaaaah injection.

So early call to the Dr's had me in there at 10 getting jabbed right into the area-man that hurts like heck-thank goodness I had finished my xmas in July swap and just a wee bit of hand stitching to do for my Let's Celebrate Swap partners birthday item/s..

Oh I did manage to finish another item this week and I have to say knitting this odd obscure way  nearly did my head in....I resorted to watching a couple of You Tube clips as I kept thinking I had it wrong...not sure if I will do anymore LOL'

Whilst I was knitting this hubby kept saying I cannot see how you can get a scarf out of that it look like something the cat has had a ball with .. he was shocked at the end...

Hi all, firstly the spam idjits have been at it big time so I have changed comments to be approved before posted.

My mind has been wandering as of late and those that fell victims to the absent mail deliveries that got buried on my desk, I apologize and am glad you have now received your items…

I sewed with this gorgeous fabric for a swap, can’t show you full pic yet.

Hmm quite happy with that..but then I chopped it all up and it ended up looking like this

Long Time…

But here I am…ok lots has been happening..Firstly I want to say..I have had my 12 month scan & xray and all is clear no new spots or marks anywhere—thank you lord…

I have been for a wee trip to Mackay for a special event…

.My son and his partner of 10 years finally married in a very secluded spot in QLD, and very special there was only the 6 of us there (apart from the photographer & celebrant).WE 6 all went out for a lovely dinner the night before which just made the wedding day carefree and easy.

Sandee’s dress was gorgeous.

Bridesmaid was her sister Alice who also looked beautiful, standing to the left is the girls mum.

And of course me and the painful girl child.

.Love the look on Shane’s face.

and of course there was lots of Gangmaaaaaaaaaaa time with Mr Ziah bundle full of personality.

Apart from the couple of minutes I get to do quick liners on FB…

I’ve been busy with house reno’s  Hubby and I have been really getting into it am over it I want it done..totally over the inadequacy of Bunnings and then drive further to other hardware stores seriously no different and care factor is NIL….

Yes I am here.

A blog post without pictures just looks dull.

I have a camera to computer issue that is pushing all my buttons.

There is creativity chaos in my sewing room (polite way of saying it looks like a disaster zone).

Positive note finally I am starting to feel my energy levels picking up, woohoo about time.

Will be back when I work out the camera to computer issue.

Oh

Where has the time gone..seems like ages since I have been here and yes it is isn’t it.

Well I went on a little trip too Mackay to see my children and celebrate my grandson’s 2nd birthday, yes he is 2 already.

Such a little cutie, although he was a tad concerned that Granma was there speaking to him and not in the computer LOL.

Pose for Granma Ziah..so he did.

We never took one pic of all of us…duffa’s we is..

I had a lovely break and on my way home I had a couple of hours at Townsville.So the lovely Jenny came and picked me up and took me back to her house for coffee and cake and too meet the family..soon as I saw Bloss’s dog I missed my doggies right away and just had to take a pic of him.

Oh and Bloss took a pic of Jen and I, which Jen promptly posted on her blog that week..slacko me took a tad longer to do a blog post.

Off to do some secret sewing for my swap partner in the Let’s Celebrate Swap hosted by Karen.

SKOW sewing continues

Since that iccky time in May I have not done any of my Some Kind of Wonderful as nothing seemed wonderful to me at the time…BUT I now have 3 rows of my SKOW sewn yipee, and I also have some block of the next row completed..I really have enjoyed getting back into it.

This looks a tad wonky but it really is just I was too hot to go get the iron on and press it again..and the bloomin cat kept running over it-as she does anytime I lay fabric stuffs on the floor.

Okay here it is again hanging in the messy corner…

 

Hmm yep I made a spelling boo boo and as I had used brown pigma pen to trace –I had the option of redoing the whole block or leaving it and you know what I think I can live with it-I trim the blocks back to size before I join them.  Ok off to sew a cat block,

Swap gifts made

I love making items for other people, but I will admit quite often I have too make 2 ‘cause I just knows I will want one for me .. do you do that to?

This is what I made Fee for her main present in the advent Swap-I always feel a bit umm inadequate –  might be the word I am looking for –in my sewing when my partner is someone who designs and sells and does gorgeous work.

Soon as I saw The Perfect Quilted Totes on Oh Fransson blog I just knew after I secretly asked a squirrel her advice on some fabric I had that the fabric would be perfect to make one for Fee..so I entered the wee giveaway but alas random number thingy didn’t pick me, so I just clicked my way over to Elizabeth’s shop and purchased a pattern for me. The pattern was very clear and easy to follow and I love patterns like that don’t you?

Cooking

Oh yes I do cook..interrupts with sewing time some days.

Anyways back to the post in mind..this year I have decided I am going to try and cook at least 1 new to me recipe each week-I admit some times the recipe may just be a variation on something I already make..but to be honest when it comes to the kitchen and cooking I am bored…

So I know there is a great big WWW of recipes and friends only all to willing to share so I have taken that on board and have also bought 3 new to me cookbooks from an Oppe Shoppe and I am actually looking forward too see what I come up with.

Tonight I am making this recipe I found here..since I found some veal & pork mince in the freezer gawd knows what I bought it for-but this recipe will do just dandy..

I will be serving it on a bed of using rice/glass noodles.

Umm  on the sewing front yep I have sewn I think..oh yes silly me I am actually back to doing My Favourite Things Quilt-that I have not touched since back in May, happy to say I am enjoying it again and it will get finished.
